The Rock

Thankfully, the match itself lived up to expectations and provided some shocks when Vince Mcmahon helped Austin get the win, and Austin turned heel. The next night on Raw, Stone Cold and Triple H formed an alliance (oddly enough) and destroyed The Rock. Vince then claimed that he had "suspended" The Rock, but in actual fact, Rocky just needed some time off to film The Mummy Returns.

By the time The Rock returned in July, WCW/ECW had "invaded" the WWE, and there was a great debate over which side The Rock would join. On Smackdown! he gave Vince a Rock Bottom to the astonishment of everyone, but then gave Shane Mcmahon a Rock Bottom aswell! Then he said, "Finally, The Rock has come back.... to the WWF!"

One person who wasn't happy that The Rock was back was Booker T. The WCW champion began a feud with The Rock, which led to a decent but still dissapointing match at Summerslam (Booker did the job, much like all the Alliance members on that night).

The feud could have been much better. Booker was made to look like a jabroni on every occassion, and at Unforgiven he couldn't even beat The Rock with Shane Mcmahon and WCW referee Nick Patrick on his side! After ending his dispute with Booker, The Rock began to tangle with Chris Jericho which led to a great series of matches between the two, during which The Rock dropped the WCW title to Jericho. After a superb clash with WWF champion Steve Austin at Rebellion in Manchester (which naturally, the WWE never make reference to) The Rock helped team WWF to victory at Survivor Series.
