Hulk Hogan will always have a place in wrestling history, as the wrestler who revolutionised the sport and made it the success that it is today. Terry Bollea began his career in the AWA, before moving on to the WWF. In his early days he went by the names Sterling Golding and Terry Bolder, and was managed by "Classy" Freddie Blassie.

Portraying a heel in the WWF, Hogan was soon turned babyface, and defeated The Iron Shiek for the WWF title in near-record-time at Madison Square Garden in 1984. What followed was a new wrestling era. Hogan, the flag-waving, vitamin-taking hero would try to rid the WWF of bad-doers, while sending buy-rates and other royalties through the roof. Wrestlemania began in 1985, and for nearly seven straight years (Hogan wasn't involved in the main event of Wrestlemania 5, but he did clobber Ted Dibiase with a chair, allowing Macho Man to win the title), Hogan headlined the event, either as the defending WWF champion, or the challenger who would go on to win the belt.

At Wrestlemania 3, Hogan overcame the huge Andre The Giant, who passed the torch to Hogan by agreeing to drop the match. Hogan has been considered one of the most selfish wrestlers when it comes to dropping matches, but at Wrestlemania 6, he DID drop his second WWF title to The Ultimate Warrior, CLEANLY and by PINFALL.
