1.3.2.4B.5.2.8B.9.2  James R. Worsham should be James Burton Worsham b. 12 Jan 1901 Robertson Co, TN. According to June Hirsch, 2000: "her grandfather was James Worsham and my grandmother, Olive Roper, were md in KS around 1920, and they had one son, my father, Thomas J. Worsham.  They were divorced in 1924, and my grandmother remarried and changed my dads name to King.  Apparently, James Worsham ended up in Oakland, CA and remarried, having two daughters."  California death records provide James Burton Worsham's death as 25 Sep 1952 Alameda Co, CA and his mother's name is Horn.  The family link was found from the 1920 Davidson Co, TN census, where Loretta Worsham, age 14 TN, lived with Wm. L. Horn, relationship niece.  Her father is believed to be Samuel Worsham b. abt. 1872 and a brother of Joseph Robert Worsham. His second wife may be Anna Belle b. 27 Oct 1901 (or 1900) KS and d. 27 Jun 1987 in Alameda Co, CA.

Worsham b 19 Jan 1826 VA & md Elizabeth Jane Hatcher 15 Mar 1849 Floyd Co., KY.  He is s/o William Worsham & Elizabeth Ragsdale of page 114 who is 1.3.2.4B.5.3.  Proof of relationship comes from Bill Maxfield who has an original letter from Thomas' wife in Prestonburg, Floyd Co., KY written to Maria Louisa Worsham Fortune, his sister. (See 1.3.2.4B.5.3.6. on page 122)  The letter was written shortly after his death from disease at the end of the Civil War.

1.3.2.4B.5.3.6. should be 1.3.2.4B.5.3.7. Maria Louisa Worsham d/o William & Elizabeth Ragsdale Worsham.  She md Edward Wesley Fortune 31 Mar 1858 Pulaski Co., VA.  There is additional information about the family which was received from Bill Maxfield, 2000:  The William Worsham & the Edward Fortune family moved to Dent Co., MO in about 1858.  Brother, Thomas fought for the South in the Civil War and her husband fought for the North.  Edward kept a diary while he was an infantryman with Sherman's army from Vicksburg through the end of the war.  He contracted chronic dysentery while serving in the war which plagued him until his death.  After the war, Edward was a farmer and a justice of the peace.  He lived to be 74 years of age and with Maria had 12 children.  A family picture of Maria Louisa with her husband & several of their children plus two Norris nieces is included on page 214 of Vol. 1 of "Ozark Heritage" a 1978 compilation of family histories from Dent County, MO.  Maria Louisa is bur in the Copeland Cemetery in Dent Co., MO.

     1.3.2.4B.5.3.6.4  Charles R. Fortune b 1869 & d 1937.  Bill Maxfield believes Charles Fortune, Alice's unmarried oldest brother, moved with the Norrises and Elizabeth Worsham Morgan to Drummond, Montana in 1890s.  He is buried there.

1.3.2.4B.5.5.  Polly Ann Worsham b abt 1793.  Her name is Mary Ann Worsham b 8 Apr 1800 Pittsylvania Co., VA d/o Thomas Worsham & Elizabeth Wynne.  (See pg 92)  Her name has also been shown as Mary S. Warsham according to Judy Brown Rasmussen.  She is listed as Polly Worsham in the will of her father, Thomas dated 11 Aug 1817 Pittsylvania Co. VA.  She was left one negro woman Aggy and her child Clary, one boy Dan (?) One horse valued at $100, one bed & furniture, one cow & calf. (Pittsylvania Co, VA D & W 1796-1799, Bk 11, p 472)  She md Edmund W. Cobbs 19 Jan 1818 Pittsylvania Co., VA.  Edmund b 17 Jan 1792 VA.  He was listed in the 1820 Liberty, Bedford Co., VA Census, p 036 as Edmund M. Cobb.  He received a distribution of $755.08 from her father, Thomas' estate in March of 1818 & 1820 in Pittsylvania Co Court.  He received a distribution from her uncle, John Worsham's estate as an heir of Thomas Worsham in 1823 in Pittsylvania Co., VA.  (Pittsylvania Co Accounts Current 1821-1824, Bk 7, pp 362-364, FHL Film 33294)  A suit was recorded on 18 Dec 1843 between Thomas Worsham, Jr. vs William Worsham, Jr.  In the suit, it was stated that Edmund W. Cobbs & Ann his wife sold their interest in slaves to John Noble.  The slaves mentioned in the bill were to be divided: to John Noble one sixth the portion of Edmund W. Cobbs & Ann his wife, etc.  She d 31 May 1864.  (Pittsylvania Co., VA Court Records, 1842-1844, Order Bk 37, p 292)  Children:

1.3.2.4B.5.6B.1. Thomas Ritchie Worsham. . He served in the same "F Company" Richmond, Va., 21st Regiment Virginia Infantry, Second Brigade, Jackson's Division, Second Corps, A. N. VA as John Henry Worsham who wrote the book "One of Jackson's Foot Cavalry, 1912. The book may be viewed at http://docsouth.unc.edu/worsham/worsham.html. Thomas was a Private and was on the Muster roll of Captain Richard H. Cunningham, Jr's Company F of Light Infantry from the City of Richmond. Enrolled for Active Service at Richmond on 21st of April 1861; promoted; Mustered into Service at Richmond on the 28th day of June, 1861, for one year from the 21st day of April, 1861, unless sooner discharged. (One of Jackson's Foot Cavalry pp 21, 32, 316)

An article in The Handbook of Texas Online, by Karen Gratke, 0.612, about Darwin, Texas: "Darwin was on Farm Road 1472 and Santo Tomas Creek near the bank of the Rio Grande in northwestern Webb County. It was named for David Darwin Davis, the superintendent of the Cannel Coal Company that began mining locally in 1882. The community had a post office from 1896 to 1915. In 1914 the population of Darwin was 800, and it was a station on the Rio Grande and Eagle Pass Railroad. At this time Thomas Worsham was the community postmaster, and H. H. Jefferies was a cattle breeder in the area. By 1920 the area mines had declined greatly; they closed in 1939. The Darwin population in 1936 had dropped to seventy-five, and there was one business.
