               At the entry, visitors encounter a 6 ft tall British Soldier and a lusty Pirate, two colorful individuals who guard the door under a sparkling lit archway to prepare the way for the adventure ahead. Once inside, there is a choice of individual viewing, or for tour groups or school field trips, a docent will lead the way. (15-20 minutes)
 

  
This is no lifeless, static display!  Here are lively  HALF LIFE-SIZED 3D FIGURES fully and individually animated, grouped into 12 dramatic, WORKING DIORAMAS, Complete with moving scenery, exciting theatrical lighting and fiberoptic effects. They spring into lifelike action that will amaze and delight you. A novel and amusing way to learn the true facts about New Orleans' most colorful character.
   Also presented are charts, replicas, documents,  weapons, ephemera and artifacts which are  displayed in cases or on  walls. 
Supplementary Activities and Workshops are available for groups.

This Animated Exhibit  "THE LEGEND OF JEAN LAFITTE" is located in  the TOURIST WELCOME CENTER  in the town of Jean Lafitte. The Center stands across from the Bayou in the shadow of the Intracoastal Waterway Hi-Rise Bridge, just 30 minutes south of New Orleans. 

  After viewing the Exhibit, pick up brochures for the many nearby attractions, including the Jean Lafitte National Historic Park.  The Tourist Center has an excellent video showing the many fine Restaurants, Accomodations, and various Swamp Tours. It will also give you a taste of the "good life" down on the Bayou.
