Blood Wedding

Written by Federico Garcia Lorca under Franco's fascist regime of the 1930s. Rarely produced (if ever?) in Australia, this is the first of his famous 'rural' trilogy (including Yerma and The House of Bernada Alba).

The play richly blends poetry and drama with an almost primitive ritualism. Primal archetypes of Death and the Moon prey upon a passionate peasant love triangle.
