"Too often, women's history
has been lost."

---Janet Guthrie

Few women have ventured in to the sport of Race Car Driving.  Though less sexism in the recent years, there have not been as many female race car drivers than in the earlier years. In total there have been 14 women race in NASCAR (and one man who in history was mistaken for a woman).  The first was Sara Christian in 1949 and the most recent women to drive in NASCAR is Shawna Robinson.  To the left hand side  is the list of 14 female race car drivers.  In brackets are the years in which they raced and listed after the names is the number of races they ran.

Check out the new link on the links page to Young Racers of America. Support their organization and support the young women who recieve grants.
I am currently seeking help with redesigning my webpage and updating it. Also creating a monthly newsletter about women in racing!
Support your local racers!
Please help spread the history of women in racing!

Website Dedicated to the memory of Genevieve Obert. Genny was instrumental in the recording of the history of women in racing and compiled an extensive list of women in racing and for that this website is dedicated to all the hard work she put into this interesting subject.

Website is also dedicated to all of the women who have struggled in racing and made it happen or have inspired other women.
