[Childhood]
Senova led a quiet life as a peasant-child in a small village of mixed species. He was a carefree and nonchalant youth, and his childhood was largely without incident. Born to a pair of elderly lupes, he grew up an only child and with no friends his age. He was nevertheless naturally gregarious, and inordinately fond of the wilderness. He would spend hours across the creek from his home, creating arrows and knapping arrowheads, and teaching himself how to shoot a bow. He became a talented archer, capable of hunting for his family with ease, and thoroughly enjoyed the art.
Toward the end of his childhood years, his father fell ill and there was nothing they could do within the village to help him. The only help that could be offered was a healer from an adjoining village, who charged for his services and stubbornly refused to work for free. Senova’s family, not having this money, was desperate; Senova decided, then, to travel and seek employment so that he might save his father’s life.
[Adolescence]
He met Aldath, a charming businessman, in a village on the other side of the mountains from him. The bat-winged lupe was particularly interested in Senova’s archer ability, and explained to him that his business was with extermination. Senova, desperate for the money and wooed by Aldath’s smooth talking, signed a contract: he was hired to kill 26 individuals, at the end of which he would be paid in full so that he might return. The number 26 was branded into his hind paw so neither he nor anyone else could forget the contract, and he was unleashed on the world.
Senova killed 25 creatures before the band of assassins was broken up and scattered throughout the countryside. He felt no real remorse for his acts. He never met a creature he was hired to kill, and he knew every moment that he worked that he was doing so for a good cause. He remained as sociable and good-natured as ever; he also gained deadly precision with the bow.
When the assassin group began to fall apart and Aldath’s sanity began to wane, Senova forced the lupe to pay him, promising to return if need-be for the 26th assassination. Aldath reluctantly agreed, and the archer returned home.
His father had died shortly after his departure.
The money useless to him and his mother and family disgusted with what he had done, Senova was forced to leave the village. He left his fortune with his mother, packed himself a ratty wool blanket and his weaponry, and left the village forever to become a wandering rogue.
[Adulthood]
From that point on, Senova never looked back. He whittled himself a flute from reeds and taught himself how to play in the evenings he was camped beneath the stars. He made a life of travel, stopping at settlements for supplies, hunting with his bow, whittling new arrows in the night. He socialized with everyone he met, making instant connections and getting along with everyone. He was sociopathic to a degree, finding nothing wrong with what he had done, but never felt ill will toward another creature; he was peaceable and never mentioned to those he met what he had done with his life. Indeed, he forgot it himself.
He was forcibly reminded, however, when his old boss hunted him down and captured him in his sleep. Aldath came to him, tied him up, and told him that a last assassination was owed. Senova struggled but realized the truth to this, and—seeing his old boss was insane and learning that the final hit was Aldath’s own daughter—the archer played along and agreed to take the hit, all the while wondering how to get out of it.
He was taken as a hostage to the territory of the ESLP, an evil lupe pack Aldath had aligned himself with. Tied to a tree and separated from his weapons, he was largely helpless for awhile. He was forced to watch as open war broke out between the ESLP and the Fire Eagles, their enemy pack in which Coy, the lupess he had been hired to assassinate, dwelled. He finally managed to break free of his bonds and reconnect with his old weapon, and did a little damage to the ESLP.
The battle ended with Aldath’s death. Coy ripped out his throat and collapsed in exhaustion and injury. Senova came beside her, asked her permission, and thrust an arrow deep into Aldath’s heart—the 26th arrow reserved for a hit, and the one to finalize the contract.
This finished, Senova could properly put his assassin heritage behind himself, and he loosely allied himself with the Fire Eagles. He continued wandering, of course; the seeds of travel were deeply embedded in his heart. He remains benevolent and sociopathic.
During his travels, Senova has made only one friend, a lupess by the name of WickedShadow. She is a fascinating creature, somewhat schizophrenic and very beautiful. They became close friends after a few chance meetings, and traveled together for a time. Senova fell in love with her—as in love with her as he could be with anyone—and tried to woo her, but it was hopeless; she loved another. Heartbroken, Senova went away from her and wandered alone for some time. He still considers her a good friend, but cannot spend much time in her presence any more due to his emotion and the overwhelming jealousy he feels toward her current mate.
