| For many, counselling and spiritual direction are two different disciplines that should remain separate. Yet there is, I believe, a vital and necessary connection between the two. Counselling often involves some very difficult and complicated relationship issues that can entangle individuals at any stage of life. Such a person becomes lost, as it were, and unable to find their way in life. They seek a counsellor to help them find direction and meaning again. This direction often begins at the physical-psychosocial level, but must progress to the spiritual level if healing is to be complete. |
