Floyd is a four and a half-foot Corn snake. That makes him not much shorter than me. He was a private rescue. The previous owner had gone to quite a bit of trouble at one time to build him a rather fancy habitat. Fancy, yes, but inadequately heated or stimulating and had not been cleaned in, oh, perhaps forever. He had also outgrown it some time ago.

I suspect Floyd has some neurological damage, but he has come very far since we acquired him. Holding him used to be like holding a high pressure garden hose, but now he will quite politely stay around your arm or neck. He spends more time cruising and appropriately sheltering now as well.

If you have an animal that you no longer want or are unable to properly care for, please make arrangements to find a suitable home or for humane euthanasia as soon as possible. Never set it free or just leave it to languish and suffer.
