Paving of Anstruther Lake Road - (March 10 e-mail from Dana Dvorak)

Hello everybody: I have just learned that the Township is renewing its
efforts to have the Ansthruther Lake Rd. paved. They are going to apply for
a government grant of 3.2 million dollars.

Unless Anstruther Lake Rd. becomes the new park's access road there are a
lot of reasons why it should not be paved.

1)  It is not needed (I am told there are only three permanent residents on
the lake - the present Reeve, the marina and one more cottage).  Is it a
prudent way how to spend taxpayers' money?

2)  It is a further step towards the urbanization of the cottage country.
Most of us enjoy the semi-wilderness of our lake and do not want to have it
spoiled.

3)  Paving of the road will encourage more traffic, speeding and dangerous
driving.

 4)  There is a serious danger of Anstruther Lake Rd. being linked with
Beaver Lake Rd. on the other side of the Anstruther Lake dam. It has been
talked about a number of times. Once the road is paved, who can say how
quickly this could become a reality?

If you object to having Anstruther Lake road paved, please write to
