Wheeling Jesuit University Table Tennis Club

 

 

Article I.                     The name of the organization shall be Wheeling Jesuit University Table Tennis Club, but may be abbreviated to read W.J.U.T.T.C.

 

 

 

Article II.                    This organization and all members of this organization shall abide by all policies and regulations of Wheeling Jesuit University, as outlined in the Student Handbook, the rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association, all local, state, and federal laws, and all rules outlined in this constitution.

 

            Section I.       The purpose of this organization shall be to provide healthy competition, in a fun environment, to form a group of active table tennis competitors, so that they might be able to practice more often, and to make a team to represent Wheeling Jesuit University in the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association.

 

            Section II.     The major goals of the organization shall be to: provide regular competitions for, not only members of the club, but for other students, faculty members, and members of the surrounding communities; create a competitive team that will represent Wheeling Jesuit University in the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association; improve the skill level of all its members.

 

 

 

Article III.                  All members of the organization must abide by all policies and regulations of Wheeling Jesuit University, as outlined in the Student Handbook, all local, state, and federal laws, and all rules outlined in this constitution.

 

            Section I.            Membership in this organization shall be open to all students at Wheeling Jesuit University, both part-time and full-time, all faculty members, all alumni, and anyone residing in the surrounding area.  Discrimination due to religion, ethnicity, gender, or class will be strictly prohibited.

 

            Section II.     In order to be selected for membership in this organization, one must fill out an application, available from either the Student Government office, or the President of the organization.  Once he/she has been selected for membership into the organization, their named shall be placed on the club roster.  Applications may be submitted at any time during the semester.  After he/she has been accepted as a member of the organization, he/she does not need to reapply for membership the following semester.

 

            Section III.    All members of the organization must attend at least one meeting every other month.  If two absences are recorded in succession, the member shall be in violation of the attendance policy.

 

            Section IV.    Any member who chooses to violate any of the policies, regulations, laws, or bi-laws, stated in this constitution, shall be removed from the organization.  An individual in violation of the attendance policy shall have his/her membership automatically revoked, but may reapply for membership the following semester.  An individual in violation of any other policies, regulations, laws, or bi-laws stated in this constitution, may have their membership revoked by a vote of majority by at least half of the members of the organization.  Until this vote can be completed, his/her membership shall be valid.

 

 

 

Article IV.                  

 

            Section I.       Officers must be registered students of Wheeling Jesuit University.  They must abide by all policies, regulations, laws, and bi-laws outlined in this constitution.  If they do not abide by all policies, regulations, laws, and bi-laws outlined in this constitution, they shall be removed from office, and their membership shall be revoked.

 

            Section II.     There shall be three offices of this organization and they shall be President, Vice-President, and Secretary.

 

            Section III.    Duties of the Officers

 

                                    1.            The President shall help organize and promote all events held by the organization.  He/she shall also keep order at all of the events held by the organization.  If the President is in violation of any of the organization’s policies, regulations, laws, or bi-laws, or does not fulfill his/her duties as an officer, he/she may be impeached through a majority vote by at least one half of the members of the organization.

                                    2.            The Vice-President shall organize and promote all events held by the organization.  He/she shall be in charge of transportation, equipment, reservations, etc.  If the Vice-President is in violation of any of the organization’s policies, regulations, laws, or bi-laws, or does not fulfill his/her duties as an officer, he/she may be impeached through a majority vote by at least one half of the members of the organization.

                                    3.            The Secretary shall keep all records for the organization.  He/she shall record the length of every meeting, competition, and event, the score of every game, the topic of every meeting, and the collection and use of all of the organization’s funds.  He/she shall also be in charge of the organization’s bank account.  If the Secretary is in violation of any of the organization’s policies, regulations, laws, or bi-laws, or does not fulfill his/her duties as an officer, he/she may be impeached through a majority vote by at least one half of the members of the organization.

 

            Section IV.    All registered students of Wheeling Jesuit University are eligible for election into the offices of this organization.

 

            Section V.     In order to be qualified for election into the organization’s offices, one must complete an “Application for Office” form.  These forms must be turned into either the President of the organization or the Student Government office by the third Monday of the semester.  Elections for the offices shall take place on the third Tuesday of the semester, every semester.  In order to be elected, one must receive a majority vote by at least three fourths of the organization.

 

 

 

Article V.                   

 

            Section I.       Regular meetings shall be held once a month.  It is mandatory to be present to at least one meeting every other month.  Events, competitions, and tournaments do not count as meetings and are not mandatory, but shall be called whenever the Vice-President and/or President organizes them.

 

            Section II.     Special meetings may be called, but shall not be mandatory.  At least one service project must be completed each semester, by at least one half of the members of the organization.  Practices, events, tournaments, and competitions shall be called regularly and attendance by members is encouraged, but not required, for development of skills.

 

 

 

Article VI.                  

 

            Section I.       Dues shall not be collected, but some events may cost money for participation.  Uniforms shall cost money, but shall not be mandatory, unless the member shall be playing in the Nation Collegiate Table Tennis Association nationals.

 

            Section II.     All monies belonging to this organization shall be deposited and disbursed through a bank account established for this organization.  All funds must be deposited within 72 hours after collection.  The Secretary, Moderator, and either President or Vice-President must make a written statement allowing the expenditure of any club monies or funds.

 

 

 

Article VII.                 Any part of this constitution may be amended and/or changed at any point in time.  In order to amend and/or change this constitution, the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Moderator, and at least half of the members of the organization must make a written statement allowing its alteration.
