U.S. Federal Route 51

U.S. Federal Route 51 runs nprth-south through the entire length of the state. This cuts up and down the center of Wisconsin. U.S. Rt. 51 enters Wisconsin from Illinois at Beloit. Portions of this highway from near Portage north, have been up-graded to freeway status. The northn end for this highway is at U.S. Rt. 2, near Hurley in Iron County.
