As a result of homemade demos recorded by the ambitious Tom Scholz of the finest AOR albums of all time was created. The tapes impressed Epic Records. Tom Scholz joined with friends Fran Sheehan who played bass, Brad Delp who played guitar, and vocals, Barry Goudreau who also played guitar and Sib Hashian who played drums.
Adopting the name "Boston" their first release was a Top 3 album that eventually sold 16 MILLION copies in the United States alone, and spent 2 years on the UC charts. The unforgettable single "More Than A Feeling" was an instant classic, containing all the key ingredients of an all aged rock and roll tune: awesome guitar, powerful lead vocal with faultless harmonies, and heavy bass and drums. About two years later they repeated the formula practically note for note with "Don't Look Back", which also topped the US charts.

The band, in the guise of Tom Scholz and Brad Delp, returned in 1986 with "Third Stage" which generated two further US hit singles to number 1 in the United Staes, giving Boston a record in rock and roll history, by combining the biggest-selling debut album with three number 1 albums and total sales of over 50 MILLION!!!!!!!!

Tom Scholz toured "Third Stage" with a new line-up consisting of Brad Delp, guitarist Gary Phil, bassist David Sikes and drummers Doug Huffman and Jim Masdea. Brad Delp left to join Barry Goudreau in his new band "Return To Zero" before Tom Scholz began work on a new album, joining Barry Boudreau's sparring partner Cosmo as vocalist. The ressult of "Walk On" with Tom Scholz the sole remaining member of the original line-up, was a dissapointment, although it still reached the Top 5 on the US chartts.
