Myrtle's education ended with primary school. When her family moved back to Virginia from New Mexico, Mrytle married Hugh and stayed. She is buried in the Good Sheppard Cemetery in Hunting Beach, CA. After Hugh's death she married Fred. Her family remembers her as a great cook. She would make wonderful pies for family gatherings.

Mrytle's brother, Frank Pierce, said that Myrtle, Nannie and Ella were all married about the same time probably by Rev. Porter of the Baptist Church in Alamogordo

Nothing is known about Hugh.

Hugh and Mrytle's children are:
1. Mrytle Lucille (7-Sep-1919) who married Paul Withheld and then Lee Withheld,
2. Glen Howell (16-Apr-1922) who married 12-Jul-1945 Dorothy Louise Withheld,
3. William Hugh (31-Dec-1925) who married 19-Jul-1947 Patricia Clare Withheld,
4. Ray Dewey (18-Sep-1927) who married 28-Nov-1948 Barbara June Withheld,
5. Sally Mae (17-Apr-1933) who married 14-Jul-1951 John Snow Withheld, and
6. Robert Lee (7-oct-1937) who married in June 1958 Marlene Rae Withheld.

There were no children of the marriage to Fred Hermann.
