Mattie was born in Grayson County. Mattie Lee, 73, of Galax, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at Twin County Regional Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Bill; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Patty and Greg and Terri, all of Galax; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Pauline of Galax, Iva Dell and Roy, and Betty and C.E., all of Galax; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Burton Winesett of Savannah, Ga., Ralph and Mozelle Winesett and Roger and Barbara Winesett, all of Galax, and Rex and Frances Winesett of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Irene Winesett of Galax; three grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral was held at Cliffview Church of God with burial in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. Bill is also buried in Felts Memorial Cemetery.
