He was called Edd. He was an embalmer for C.L. Smith in Galax, VA, and Ben Lays Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC, in the 1940's. He served in the Navy during WWII. Afer the war, he worked as a janitor in the local school until retirement. He and Hallie lived on Carson Creek. Edd buried his grandfather Lemuel Winesett. His social security application 223-14-3791 gave his middle name as "Edd". He was a member of the Old Town Lodge #68, Masons.

Ed and Hallie's children are:
1. Vivian Gray (31-Oct-1920 to 12-Aug-1923),
2. Eddie Louise 17-Jan-1923 to present),
3. Charles Edmond (8-Jun-1925 to present),
4. Hallie Carson (13-Sep-1929 to 19-Aug-1990) and
5. Teddy Whitfield (26-Aug-1932 to 24-Mar-1992).
