By: Knowledge Adventures/Dymamix Year: 1998 This game is a special edition of the first Trophy Bass, but now in a light version to children. I think it's a cute little game that makes it easy for kids to understand what fishig is all about. You can start with this game and then play the other games in Sierra's Trophy serie. If you alleready are having Trophy Bass you will see that the gameplay is almost the same. You are starting at the dock (main menu) where you can choose from among 3 game types: "Fish Now" "Fishing Trip" "Contest" You can also "Sign In" if you want to start a noter game you can select to be a boy or a girl - politicaly correct! ."Select option" for tuning voice, music or enable use of joystick. You are guided by the friendly bear that tells you all the thing you need to know for getting started. The "preview" is a 1th class user guide that show/tells you how to fish. So there is no excuse for not understandig the gameplay! In fishing trip there is 6 lakes in it each with a majority of species to choose from. To make the game more simple, there is only 9 lures to choose from in the 3 game types. There is also 3 levels: Easy, Medium and Hard. In the game you have the navi level where you are sailing a little boat with the arrow keys. When the fish indicator (a fish icon) blinks and bips - there is fish near your boat and you can go fishing. At the cast/fight level you cast the lure at the fish in the wather. And if they takes the hook you must reel/fight them in. All fish cought can be seen in the "livewell" If you have fished in a contest, you will be able to see your best result in the "Hall of Fame" room.
