U.S. History 1865-1910
Here I am going to list three people from the 'transformation of america' era, that I believe are deserving of praise. My firstperson is: Granville T. Woods. Mr. Woods improved an allready brilliant invention (one which made it possible for all the cars on a train to stop at once, and an incredible safety measure) and made trains able to communicate with stations across the nation. Because of this, the risk of train crashes or a train being in danger with no way to contact people, was reduced immensly. My second person who made a differencein this era of history is: Andrew Carnegie. Mr. Carnegie came to America from Scotland in 1848. He then entered the business of making steel. Admittedly, he knew little about steel, but he surrounded himself with skillful people, and by the time he retired he was worth nearly $500 million dollars. Mr. Carnegie said that this brilliant accomplishment was due to the fact that he may not have known how to make steel, but he knew how to run a business. My third person whom I believe made difference in the selected era is: Jane Addams. Ms. Addams was born to a well-to-do quaker family in Cedarville, Illinois. Unable to be a doctor due to a physical disability, Ms. Adams decided to pursue inspiration in Europe. Once there, she decided that her career choice would be to help the urban poor. Indeed she bacame leader of the International League for Peace and Freedom, and eventually accumulated many followers. Ms. Addams and all others mentioned here helped make life something to be thankful for.
