| The spiritual roots of Wicca can be traced back to Paleolithic times when Nature Deities were worshiped by all the people around the world; however, as a result of the influence of Christianity, anti-witchcraft propaganda, and the modification of folk traditions, the pagan priests and priestesses of earlier times were transformed into evil sorcerers of the middle ages. The Christian church did not like the fact that the pagans coexisted with them so they turned poeple of the church against them, calling Wiccans the devil or being in company with the devil. This is completely absurd considering that Wiccans do not beleive that there is a supreme source of evil. |
