The park has three areas for the dogs to play.
- The above two pictures are pictures of the play areas for the medium
and large dogs (and some of the smaller ones who don't mind getting
bowled over by the larger ones). The play areas are switched so neither
gets too played out by all the dogs.
- And a smaller area for the smaller dogs to play. Here is a picture
of the small dog play area.
Sometimes it is amazing to see more than 25 dogs all playing, sniffing
and doing doggie things in the park. They seem to realize the park is
a neutral area and have some rules among themselves - I think one of the
rules is "Smell every doggie butt in the park." but it must
be a doggie thing that us humans just can't understand. But there are
some rules for us humans so we can all use the park safely. And here they
are:
-
Your
dog must
wear a dog collar, have PROOF OF LICENSE (i.e., any jurisdictional
license which could be either City or County], and be current
on all shots.
-
A maximum of 2 dogs
per adult.
-
The minimum age
for puppies is 4 months. If your female dog is in heat, Your dog cannot
use the Dog Park until she is no longer in heat.
-
Your dog must
be leashed when entering or leaving the Dog Park and the owner must
carry the leash at all times when inside the Dog Park with their dog.
-
Once inside the
Dog Park, Your dog must be off leash. Also ALL Halties
(head harnesses] and muzzles should be removed before entering the
Dog Park. (Sorry NO EXCEPTIONS]
- DOG OWNERS are
LIABLE for any damage or injuries THEIR dog does to other people or
dogs.
- NO AGGRESSIVE DOGS
ALLOWED! If you think your dog may have trouble ‘socializing’ with
other dogs, Please ask for assistance from a volunteer before entering
the Dog Park.
-
NO food, dog treats,
or personal dog toys are allowed inside the Dog Park. We have Tennis
Balls and Frisbees available for you to use with your dog.
-
We accept donations
of dog toys, if you would like to donate to our Dog Toy Program.
-
If your dog poops
at the Dog Park, YOU as the OWNER must pick up and dispose
of the dog poop using one of our dog poop disposal stations.
-
If you want to volunteer
to help us at the Dog Park or donate money to help provide for the
upkeep of the Dog Park, Volunteers are at the Dog Park on Saturdays
at 10:00 AM. Monthly volunteer meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday
of each month at 7pm where we discuss upcoming Events, Volunteer &
Donation Programs, and any other issues regarding the Dog Park.
