WILD BASIN TRAILHEAD

Ouzel Falls

This section of the park offers some great hiking, and is far less crowded than the Bear Lake area.
It's reached by taking Hwy 7 south of Estes.

We haven't done a great deal of hiking in this area, but we're going to make up for it in 2004.
I've seen pics of hikes to Lion and Snowbank Lakes, and they look spectacular.
They're on our "must do" list for our next trip.

This is a great area for people who don't mind putting in some serious miles, as well as those who want
great scenery within a few miles of the trailhead.
Calypso Cascades and Ouzel Falls are great destinations for people with young kids.
