MAMA'S KORNER

Hi! I am Spot's Mama. I want to tell you a few things, and to add a few links of my own.

Pets can make the difference in anyone's life. I've heard all the stories that people have...why they can't stand to have pets in the house; or why they don't want a pet...too much trouble!! I say they don't know what they are missing.

I grew up with having pets. Cats, Dogs, Gerbils, Hamsters, White Mice, Rabbits, and Parakeets. I've had them all, and the cat is the best. The family cat can be a best friend to anyone, and they are clean.

They say that animals can also add years to a person's life. I know this is true in the case of my mama.

Mother had diabetes. This can be a devastating disease, especially when it strikes later in life. It really turns your world upside down. The routine of daily insulin shots and watching your diet and exercise may not be so bad on a younger person; but on one older it takes its toll.

Before diabetes, Mama had been fairly active. Now, Mama didn't really want to live, and no amount of pleading for her to get up, even to watch tv, would do. I had all but given up hope of her ever being near the same.

Then Spot came along. He gave her something else to think about. Pretty soon she was up, eating right, taking interest in things, and especially looking out for Spot.

We are thankful to this kitty for bringing her out of a very serious depression.

Mama died this past October from complications with her diabetes. But she would have not lived the past five years if it had not been for Spot. He will always have a home with us.

This website is dedicated to Mama and the wonderful little kitty that came into our hearts.
