Unshielded Twisted Pair cable is the most common type of telecommunication medium in use today. It's frequency range is suitable for transmitting both data and voice.

Coaxial Cable carries signals of higher frequency ranges than twisted-pair cable, in part because the two media are constructed quite differently.

Optical Fiber is made of glass or plastic and transmits signals in the form of light.
