I have no problem with Wicca.
It's the Wiccans I can't stand!

Why Should People be 'Allowed' to Trash Wicca?

or
What's Wrong With a Little Censorship?

It’s called free speech. Let's face it, the main reason why WiKKKans suck is their Fatwa against free speech --especially that of disenfranchised minority groups like historically/scientifically literate skeptics and American Indians who don't want their sacred ceremonies incorporated into the WiKKKan borg. Instead of fighting back with ideas, however, these cowards have viciously, relentlessly and illiberally worked to smother this flourishing cyber-universe of cultural and political discourse under a tangle of bullshit justifications ranging from free-expression of religion (which they deny American Indians by contaminating their religion) and ironically, religious tolerance. Their ruthless campaign against dissent represents the most sustained attack on free political speech in the United States since the 1798 Alien and Sedition Acts. No minority group should need the permission of these sanctimonious, pious hypocrites to express themselves. The WiKKKan Fatwa against free speech undermines real education about alternative spirituality. It is so extensive in cyber-space that it is now easier to criticize the Bu$h mis-administration than it is to criticize WiKKKans. These pious posers have shut down hundred of web sites of individuals and groups who simply tried to analyze and criticize them. They have created a climate of repression in cyber-space that no decent person should tolerate. Every thinking person has the right to demand more than this brainless, limited pabulum.
As a patriotic American, I have tried to preserve the voices of dissent among the least powerful in our so-call free society. Anyone committed to free speech, must denounce all forms of irrational censorship, even if it comes from those purporting to be on the Left. If anyone knows of any links that are still active that criticize WiKKKans or neo-pagans, please post them on my forum.

Fisher, Barbara A Review of Phyllis Curott's Witchcrafting November 14, 2001

"I am not saying that Wiccans cannot revere any of these Goddesses or work with their energy but to ignore the religions from which they came and then call them Wiccan is blatant cultural imperialism of a rather ugly kind. I say it is ugly, because it was done so blithely, so easily, as if it was tossed off the top of her head in passing, without thought for the implications of the statement. Practitioners of Native American religions, in particular, already have issues with New Agers appropriating and misrepresenting their spiritual paths, so they don't need a respected Wiccan priestess jumping onto the wannabe bandwagon and proclaiming one of their most sacred Goddesses, White Buffalo Woman, as Wiccan. That, to me, is completely unnecessary and damaging to both Wicca and Curott. I suspect that she isn't insensitive to this issue, and I wouldn't want to portray her that way. However, I think that she just didn't think about it." (/www.journeytothewest.com/wordmain.htm)

A thinking person of integrity should learn all s/he can about how this belief system shaped the Nazi occult before blindly accepting modern neo-paganism.
