Past Important Events: 2007-2008 2008-2009 Saturday, November 22nd, 2008: Green Youth Summit and Community Fair This event, organized by greenschools, will be held at Woburn Memorial High School. The Youth Summit is for students in grades 4-8, and the Community fair is for anyone. Greenschools is looking for volunteers to help out at the fair. Green Schools Community Fair 2008 Flyer Green Youth Summit Information www.projectgreenschools.org Saturday, December 6th, 2008: Solar Panel Ribbon Cutting Ceremony This event will be held at 10:00 am at the Wellesley High School to honor and thank the donors who made it possible for Wellesley High School's solar panels to be fixed and for a data display system to be installed. Thursday, February 5th, 2009: National Teach-In on Global Warming This invites schools and other organizations to watch a webcast ("The First 100 Days") and then organize a discussion with students as well as decision makers about the policy recommendations of the Presidential Climate Action Project. More information coming soon... Monday, April 13th, 2009 to Friday, April 17th, 2009: EARTH WEEK! A celebration of the Earth a during the week before Earth Day (Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009), our second annual Earth Week will consist of Cafeteria Culture Day (see description below), an outdoor beautification day, an environmental panel, and more! Date To Be Determined: Cafeteria Culture Day 2009 This school year Cafeteria Culture Day will be help during Earth Week. It is a day devoted to awareness of climate change and our impact on the environment as well as awareness of what we can do to reduce our impact. The Green Team will create a display, as well as show an i-movie and sell our organic cotton t-shirts, water bottles, and pencils, and have a Green Pledge Drive. |
