Dear President Bush,
First I must say expanding the space program is the last thing I would have expected out of you.
I was almost impressed. Almost. You forgot some crucial details though. You are going to give NASA
a whole billion extra this year. WHO are you trying to kid? That is barely a 3%(CNN.com) increase
in their budget. They get less than 1% of the federal budget. The US military spends more money on
their space programs than NASA has to spend(Popular Science Febuary 04). You are asking NASA
to build a Lambourgini Diablo with a penny. Your budget shows this new initiative to be a hollow
facade. Of course it is an election year so I guess you have to say your are going to make some kind
of magic happen for the voters. What is really sad is that you are going to play with their budget and
take 11 billion from other valuable programs ex. the International Space Station. You arent fooling
me MISTER President. I won't be voting for you IN November. That is a promise. Hopefully Kerry
and or Edwards can fix what you have probably wrecked further.
