Where You Are

by: Amber

To The Readers: I just wanted to say some things before you read my story. This is a short unrealistic story, I thought of this story as soon as soon as I heard the song that is featured in this story. So this one was just for fun. Like I said I am fully aware that is unrealistic.

It is June of 2000 and it is time for the 7th annual General Hospital Nurse's Ball. The set up all went according to plan, the acts were just right and Lucy was just as she always was.

This year Liz is performing for the first time since Lucky's death over a year ago. Last year's Nurse's Ball was too painful for Liz to attend let alone perform. This year however Liz felt she was ready to perform again. She wanted to do something special is memory of Lucky so she had asked Ned to sing a duet with her, to which he agreed. Liz chose a song that would be the perfect tribute to Lucky. Ned was all too happy to help Liz out with this. He had grown very found Liz, even though he only knew her as Emily's friend. Liz and Ned were the opening number for this years ball and Liz was extremely nervous. This year unlike the last time she performed, she would be singing a whole song, not just one line. She was sitting backstage when Ned approached her.

Ned: Liz are you okay?

Liz: (Lifts her head to meet his eyes) I'm okay, just really nervous. I can do this, I have to do this……for Lucky.

Ned: Don't worry, you'll do fine. I'll see you soon.

Liz nodded as Ned walked away. Ned walked down to the hall to the dressing room and walked inside of one of them.

Ned: Everything is set.

"Good, is she okay?"

Ned: Yeah, she's fine, just really nervous.

"I hope everything goes all right, I don't want to scare her. That is the last thing I want to do"

Ned: Well I'm sure everything will be fine in the end. The show is going to start soon.

"Okay I'll be there"

Ned left the dressing room and went backstage to wait with Liz. As he got there, Lucy was starting the introduction.

Lucy: Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the 7th annual General Hospital Nurse's Ball. Tonight we come together once again to fight for cure for HIV and AIDS. So I hope you enjoy yourselves and once again spend your money. So let's get on with the show. Our first number is very special; it is dedicated to the memory of Lucky Spencer. As you all know, we lost Lucky over a year ago and even though he is gone, he will never be forgotten. Lucky's girlfriend wanted to do something this year to honor Lucky. So without further a do, may I present Elizabeth Webber accompanied by Ned Ashton.

Everyone is the ballroom clapped as Liz made her way to the stage. Ned is still backstage. As the music started Liz took center stage.

Liz: (to herself) This is for you Lucky. (Before Liz started to sing she hoped to herself that she can get threw this song without crying)

Liz:
There are times
I swear I know you're here
When I forget about my fears
Feeling you my dear
Watching over me
And my hope sees
What the future will bring
When you wrap me in your wings.

Liz as well as all people in the ballroom had tears in their eyes at this time. Liz continued to sing.

Liz:
And take me where you are
Where you and I can breathe together
Once again, we'll be dancing in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
And you'll be smiling back at me
Only then will I be free
When I can be
Where you are

At this point in the song, Liz expected Ned to make his entrance. However Ned did not come out. Liz was shaken by the familiar voice that filled the room and everyone else was also in complete shock.

"And I can see your face
Your kiss I still can taste
Not a memory erased"

The person made his way to Liz who is now in complete tears.

Liz: Lucky?

Lucky: Yeah angel it's me. I'm here, just try to keep singing Elizabeth, we can do this together.

Liz looked in his eyes and somehow found the strength to keep singing even though she was crying. Her voice was very shaky.

Liz: (crying)
How I see your star
Shining down on me
And I'd do anything

Both:
If I could just be right there
Where you are
Where you and I can breathe together
Once again, we'll be dancing in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
And you'll be smiling back at me
Only then will I be free

Liz:
So take me where you are

Lucky: (took Liz's hand and faced her, as he met her eyes)
Now baby there are times when selfishly
I wish that you were here with me
So I could wipe the tears from your eyes
And make you see that every night
When you are dreaming
I'm here to guard you from afar

Both:
And anytime I feel alone
I close my eyes and dream of
Where you are
Oh where you are

I still believe
I have to believe
I will touch you
That sweet day
That you take me there
Where you are

Where you are

As the song ended the entire ballroom was in silence. After a few seconds the clapping began and the tears flowed. Liz and Lucky stood on the stage completely still until finally Liz jumped into Lucky's waiting arms. Liz held on to Lucky as he wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly.

Liz: Oh my god, Lucky are you really here?

Lucky: Yeah Elizabeth, I'm here.

At this time the curtain closed in front of Liz and Lucky and they are now backstage. Lucy came back out on the stage.

Lucy: Well umm I am not sure as to what just happened here. Was that Lucky? Oh wow, lets take a short break.

Backstage Liz and Lucky stood still, holding on to each other. They broke apart to look into each other's eyes to see they are both crying. Lucky raised his hand to her cheek and wiped her tears away.

Lucky: I missed you so much.

Liz: I missed you to Lucky. Have you really come back to me?

Lucky: Let me prove it to you.

Lucky looked deep into Liz's eyes, licked his lips, and then lowered his mouth to meet hers for a much-wanted kiss. They both quickly deepened the kiss and pulled each other closer. After a few minutes they broke the kiss.

Lucky: Now do you believe me?

Liz was completely speechless from that kiss. She had missed kissing Lucky so much and to able to feel his lips on hers again was a dream come true.

Liz: Umm yeah I believe you, but just to make sure, maybe you should kiss me again.

Lucky: I think I could do that. I never want to stop kissing you Elizabeth.

Lucky kissed her again, this time with more passion and longing. Liz and Lucky were together again and this time nothing on earth could come between them.

(**Okay unrealistic right? I knew it would be, like Liz would even be able to keep on singing if Lucky came back like that. Oh well, it was just for fun because I loved that song and it made think of Liz and Lucky when I heard it**) Thanks for reading. Any and all comments are welcome so please drop me a line and tell me what you think. Thanks. Heaven5573@aol.com
