THE STORY

HIKARU NO GO is a story about a young boy named SHINDOU HIKARU and his progression through the world of GO.  Hikaru, while going through the junk in his grandfathers attic, stumbles across an antique Go board.  A spirit named FUJIWARA NO SAI appears from the board and the two soon becomes the best of friends.  Hikaru agrees to let Sai play go as long as Sai helps him with his homework.  They go into a Go salon where Hikaru meets TOUYA AKIRA for the very first time.  Unknown to Touya, he was actually playing Sai and not Hikaru.  Touya gets slaughtered in the game and thus the chase begins...
