cj_31_19681. Isaac ABBOTT, born abt. 1823 in Ontario, died abt. 1857 - 1858 in Essex County, Ontario, Canada. He married Elizabeth Ann TOFFLEMIRE in Gosfield Twp., Ontario on 28 May 1848. Elizabeth Ann was born 17 Mar 1828 in Essex County, Ontario, Canada.
I have a lot of information on their descendants, and on Elizabeth's ancestors, but nothing where Isaac's parents are concerned. It isn't really clear what happened to Elizabeth or most of the children, after Isaac died as Elizabeth and most of the children seemed to have disappeared after 1858. I have managed to keep track of their son Oliver, my gggrandfather, but his brother Eli was missing for about 24 years, he doesn't resurface in the area until the 1881 census. As for the other 3 children: Samantha, John or William, they have disappeared with out a trace, as well as their mother.

michele1962eh1. Andre Barbeau married Agathe Gagne, 24 jan 1833, St-Ambroise church, Eboulements, QC.
The listing I have for Andre's parents are: Andre Barbeau and Genevieve Savard - but I can't find them!
Searching online I found a marriage for Andre Barbeau and Genevieve Lereau (L'Heureux), 27 Feb 1786 in Charlesbourg - but I have no way of knowing if this is the correct couple as no children were given.

oldbeatlefan53My brickwall is my great grandfather George Travis Speck b. Feb 15, 1855 or 1852 in Oakville, Ontario married Francis Charlotte Dempsey b. 1860 in Toronto Twnshp on Nov 9, 1876. I have found them on a census in 1881. His marriage record states that he was a Methodist and that his parents names were George Speck and Hannah. No maiden name for Hannah. I have not found George and Hannah on any census. Births were not registered before 1869 in Canada and I can't find a church record of baptism or birth for George Travis. I have found my grandparents George Valentine Speck and Laura Petrie and siblings on succeeding census'. And to compound things, I have found George Travis' death record. But it states that his parents were: John and Martha Stephens. I know I have the right George because he is buried beside Francis Dempsey in Niagara Falls Fairview Cemetery. I have tried to search for a John and Martha, but again no luck. I have also tried to search for a George and Ann because I believe that Hannah is a derivative of Ann in those days.

I hope that maybe some day someone can help me. I have posted my problem here before. Maybe there might be some new listers.

I would just like to thank everyone who visits this page for trying to help. If it weren't for people like you we would surely have a very sad world to live in. Please pat yourself on the back for your efforts.
