The Whatcom County Youth Fair since 1989 |
The Whatcom County Youth Fair |
1989 was the first official youth fair, there were 100 entries, 6 divisions (beef, sheep, swine, dairy, goats, and rabbits) Since then the Youth Fair has grown to an average of 650-700+ entries with 24 divisions. Chess, Country Crafts/ Horticulture, Lawn Mower Pull, Wool Crafts, Beef, Dogs, Photography, Sheep, Clowning, Entrepreneurship, Llamas & Alpacas, Goats, Cats, Poultry, Rabbits & Cavies, Teen Leaders, Coumputer Wizards, Jr. Rodeo, Wildlife & Salmon Habitat Mgmt., Dairy, Horse, Swine, Round Robin. This is a training fair. The kids come here to learn about the animal or event of their choice. Even if they don't own an animal or belong to a club or organization. THE COMPETITION IS LOW, THE EDUCATIONAL VALUE IS HIGH, AND HANDS ON EXPERIENCE IS OUR GOAL!! |
Show Manager, Chris Paul Chris has been the driving force behind the Youth Fair from the very beginning. She works very hard to make this fair run smoothly. |
Without the help of the sponsors from businesses and individuals it would be impossible to keep this fair going for the kids. Thank You Sponsors |
