| This year during the four days of Thanksgiving we will be going on a mining trip to a special place in the San Gabriel Mountians called "The Narrows". Like its name it is a very narrow part of the river that has four hardrock mines above it. It is about a six hour pack. So far there are four of us going, Kathy and I, brother Mike and his wife, Anita. It is a proven mine so we will be bringing back some gold as long as the bears don't get it. We have been told that the bears got our new tent and one of our sleeping bags. We haven't seen the damage yet. We will be leaving early Thursday morning and returning Sunday afternoon.
