On the second Saturday of the month from September to June, we usually meet in the shop at Portage Northern High School. On some of these Saturdays, we meet in Grand Rapids at various locations, which are noted in the previous meeting's minutes.
From 9:30 to 10:00 an informal discussion preceds the meeting. This time is spent meeting new members and reestablishing old friedndships. The meeting begins at 10 and lasts until 12. The agenda inlcludes the President's report, Treasurer's report and an exhibt (show and tell) of members' works.
During the meeting, there is a raffle of wood and tools that have been donated by club members. There is also a demonstration of woodturning techniques by one of the more experienced club members. In addition to the meetings, the club brings in special reconganized wooturners and organizes booths at local art fairs.
All visitors and potential new members are welcome to attend.
