What I want is what I've got

chapter two

"Go on and join the band, Kian. I know you want to but you don't want to leave Sligo nor family and friends," I said after Mark and Shane went off for some shopping while Kian and I decided to walk the streets for a while more. "I am just not confident that we can actually be as famous as other groups and I really would miss all of you..." he grumbled. We stopped dead in our tracks and I hugged him. "Your family and I are going to be fine. Persue your dreams, become the famous singer you have always wanted and make a name for yourself. I know you can do it," I whispered into his ear.

Kian looked at me in the eyes and replied, "Thanks. When I become famous, I would never forget you, Angie, I promise. Here, take this silver chain. Keep it and remember me through it." I held it in my hand and hugged him tight for the last time.

"I love you so much," I whispered very softly so as Kian would not hear. I never dared to tell him this but I have liked him since the very year when we went to the school prom as a couple for the first time. However, I knew if I said it now, it would make him freak out and never want to talk to me anymore. I then decided not to tell him... for now.

It was a beautiful spring morning and it has been 2 years since Kian left to be in Westlife. However, I felt that the distance between him and me was drifting further apart. He used to call me everyday and now he does not even do so anymore. It was so though I was a total stranger to him. I guessed he would be about 19 now and doing well as many people are beginning to talk about him here in Ireland.

One morning, I received a call from one of my best girl friends, Vanessa. "Hey Angie! Westlife is coming back to Ireland tomorrow to get some R&R. Wanna go catch them at the airport?" she asked, sounding all excited but her strong Irish accent was still there. I smiled and thought that it would be a chance to see Kian again. "Sure Vanessa, I'll be there," I said, smiling.
