if I let you go (2)

chapter twelve

We carried on with the interview until I picked up my personal organiser. I'd had it for years, I think somebody gave it to me as a leaving present from one of my many jobs. It was getting a bit tatty now but it still did the job. I was flipping through it when,
"Oh God," I looked up to see Shane speaking. "Rachel..."
"What?" I asked.
"Rachel! Do you remember her Kian? We found her briefcase and I took it back to her."
"Of course I remember her, you did nothing but talk about her non-stop for the next God-knows-how-long." Shane shot Kian a daggers look.
"Look Shane, can we just forget about it?" I pleaded with him.
"Why didn't you call me? I prayed everyday that you'd call me and you never did. Why?"
"Please Shane," I looked down at the floor, my eyes were starting to fill up. "Please."
"Guys, I think we better leave Shane and Rachel alone, we'll go in here."
Kian and the others left.
