"-- FIRST Robotics Competition is not about robotics -- its about things, ideas, and people -- the robot is simply the object about which we gather -- somewhat like a tribe around a campfire -- the robot serves as a focus for the much more important things that happen ---"

Hi, thanks for dropping in! My name is Ashley, and I am a 1999 Prudential Youth Leadership Institute Graduate, a 2003 Graduate of Towanda High, and a Penn State University Student.

In high school, I was a driver on the FIRST Robotics team #84 WATTNESS. Through my adventures as a driver, we were very successful and captured numerous awards. I played the flute in the marching and concert band and took piano lessons. I was a member of my high school rifle team capturing several awards, and was ranked as a NRA sharpshooter after only one year. I took dancing lessons including tap, ballett, lyrical, and jazz. I was a Girl Scout for 13 years, and obtained my Silver Award.

My mom (Cathy) is an auditor for the township, and my dad (Robert) works at CraftMaster. We have a collie named Heather who I used to show!

My dancing school and I received the opportunity to dance in New York City at Lincoln Center, with many broadway dancers, for the kick off of National Dance Week 2000. We spent two days in the big apple, attended a professional dance class, visited stores, went to plays, some of us even saw President Clinton arrive in the Big Apple, and we stayed right at Times Square! On Easter Monday, we were on CBS's The Early Show! Below is a picture of the group of us that went!
