WIP: Statement of Purpose
The aim of the Welsh Institute of Philosophy is to highlight, strengthen and maintain
the importance of philosophy in Wales.
The current state of philosophy in Wales is one of depleted resources and inadequate
funding and support from both academic and governmental institutions.
The WIP seeks to reverse this trend through a concerted and sustained effort to promote
philosophy in Wales.
We not only seek to increase the visibility of philosophy in Wales,
but also to lobby for increased support for philosophy across Wales and beyond.
WIP plans to coordinate the following activities:
Regular discussion groups
Annual meeting and philosopher's dinner
Annual conference
Research projects and collaboration across Wales
Teaching and support for philosophical activities
in local communities and schools
Visible lobbying efforts
WIP encourages your participation, membership, and contributions toward the achievement of our shared goals.
