This website presents a range of work by New Zealand-born artist Marla Jane.

Using bold shapes and colours to render primarily realism-based works is part of this emergent painter's style, and her work up to the early / mid-noughties represents this.


From the mid 1990s, the artist began maturing her wildlife renditions, which were painted in either watercolours or acrylics, further developing her own unique realism style.

Later works included portraiture and landscapes, to add some variety to this quest.

Having developed a degree of fluency in the basics, the artist has made some forays into the realms of surrealism in more recent years.
