Pogradec ( pronounced Po-gra-dets) is located on Lake Ohrid, a large fresh water lake that forms part of the border between Macedonia and Albania. The city lies on the floor of a valley. Pogradec has a reported population of 38,000, though this number may include residents of several small villages that are close to the city.
Pogradec is about five hours from Tirana, the capitol of Albania, by public bus.
