Early this week, a dry northeast monsoon brought fine and sry weather to
the district. During mid-week, a broad cloud band covered the south China
coastal areas and the northern part of the South China Sea. Hence it was
cloudy throughout the day over the district. On Thursday, it was mainly
cloudy. There were sunny intervals during the day. But it was also dry then.
On Friday, it was fine at first. Afternoon onwards, as an intense northeast
monsoon arrived the south China coast, it became cloudy. At night, it became
cooler. On Saturday morning, 18.0 degrees Celsius was once recorded in the
district, that was the lowest record so far this autumn. That day it was
cloudy at first. There were sunny periods during the day. However, it was
also dry. On the other hand, this week Muifa crossed the central part of the
South China Sea, the sea to the south of Vietnam and the Gulf of Thailand.
It got weakening and finally landed over the coast of Southern Thailand.
Meanwhile, an area of low pressure to the vincinity of Luzon intensified into
a tropical depression and named Merbok. Merbok crossed Luzon and entered the
South China Sea. Then it weakened into an area of low pressure.
本星期初，一股乾燥的東北季候風為本
區帶來晴朗及乾燥的天氣。本週中期，
一道廣闊雲帶覆蓋華南沿岸地區及南海
北部；本區整天多雲。星期四，大致多
雲，日間短暫時間有陽光及天氣乾燥。
星期五，初時天晴，下午起，一股強烈
東北季候風抵達華南沿岸，漸轉多雲，
晚間天氣轉涼。星期六，本區早上錄得
最低氣溫18.0度，是今年入秋以來最低
記錄；初時多雲，日間部分時間有陽光
及天氣乾燥。另一方面，梅花於本星期
先後橫過南海中部、越南南部海域及泰
國灣，逐漸減弱並於泰國南部沿岸登陸
；同時，位於呂宋附近的低壓區增強為
熱帶低氣壓，並命名為苗柏；苗柏橫過
呂宋及進入南海後，減弱為一低壓區。
