Around the end of this week, Tropical Storm Kompasu stroke Hong Kong
with a crash of windy weather and heavy rain. Early this week, as
affected by southwest monsoon, the weather over this district was
unsettled with occasional showers. Nevertheless, there was sunny
periods during the day and it was also hot. At mid-week, it became
fine and hot to very hot. An area of low pressure to the east of Luzon
intensified into a tropical storm, named Kompasu. It moved in the west
to west-northwest direction, crossing the Luzon Strait and the northern
part of the South China Sea. Finally it crossed the northeastern part of
Hong Kong on Friday afternoon. That day, there were strong winds and
hwavy squally showers in the district. During the weekend, although
Kompasu dissipated over Guangdong inland, its residual rainbands still
brought heavy rain to the district in the morning and early in the
afternoon.
本星期尾，受熱帶風暴圓規吹襲，有大
風及大雨。本星期初，受西南季候風影
響，本區天氣不穩定，間中有驟雨；日
間則部分時間有陽光，天氣炎熱。本週
中期轉晴，天氣炎熱至酷熱。位於呂宋
以東的低壓區增強為熱帶風暴，並命名
為圓規；圓規向西或西北偏西移動，橫
過呂宋海峽及南海北部，並於星期五下
午橫過香港東北部。星期五當日，本區
有強風及狂風大驟雨。週末期間，雖然
圓規已在廣東內陸消散，但它的殘餘雨
帶仍在早上及下午初段時間為本區帶來
大雨。
