NOVEMBER 5, 2003 - I got back from Voodoo Music Fest, and had the time of my life. It was great working with Fred and the new OffBeat staff, most of whom I hadn't met before. The highlight was a tie for Iggy Pop and the Stooges on Saturday night and A Perfect Circle on Sunday night, with QOTSA's performance a close second. We also saw Better Than Ezra, Supagroup, and parts of Marilyn Manson and 12 Stones' performances. We had to escape Manson's crowd...it was like swimming through a sea of molasses, moving through these possessed, hopped-up goth-metal fans. I have my pictures up on a special Voodoo page.

OCTOBER 2003 - I still haven't managed to update this site. I graduated from Loyola University in May, and now I can't seem to find a job that requires the talents of an English Writing graduate who almost minored in Film Studies. I have been keeping myself somewhat busy in between job searching, reading, watching movies, and writing multiple projects. Still writing reviews for OffBeat, snagged a cool writing gig with Where Y'at magazine, and working on a screenplay with my friend Rye in Albuquerque. And then there were the vacations...

I flew to Albuquerque with Fred so we could visit Rye. From there, we began a six-hour drunken, dusty saga through the New Mexico and Arizona deserts by car on our way to Las Vegas. We somehow didn't gamble, and managed to have the cheapest, best time of our lives in Sin City, especially at the legendary Circus Circus (at least to anyone who's read or seen Hunter S. Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas). Just recently, I ended a five-day cruise with family to Cozumel and La Playa del Carmen in Mexico, my first time out of the country. If I do update this site at some point, I will include pictures from both trips. Now it's time for me to retire into unemployment, creativity, and post-college insignificance. Thanks for stopping by, anyway. Email me and I'll update you concerning this site's status.
