Getting a visa to India is relatively simple and easy. One does not need to demonstrate a return ticket to qualify for a visa.

The Indian Embassy in your country will issue you a six month tourist visa. It is a multiple entry visa. After six months you have to fly to Nepal or Colombo in Sri Lanka to get another visa if you wish to renew this visa.

FIVE YEAR VISA

A five year multiple entry visa is issued if you are coming here on business. On showing the necessary documents this is again extended without any hassle. It is a good visa to get and if you have your own business we recommend that you get this. If you are employed a letter from your employer saying that you are going to do market research in India will get you this visa.

Students visa is available on showing proof of admission to an Indian university. It is a multiple entry visa and for the duration of the course. You will have to register with the local foreigners registration office on your arrival.

Procedure : Go to the embassy with your passport and two photos and they will stamp it for you and ask you to pick it up the next day.

You can mail your passport and a duly filled form ( download from your local embassy website) and they will courier it back to you. You have to pay a fee for this.
