DHTML

Dynamic HTML is a combination of technologies used to create dynamic content on web pages. By combining HTML, cascading style sheets and a scripting language like Javascript, you can create some stunning (and some downright daggy;) effects on your web pages.

These combined technologies work together following the rules of the Document Object Model (DOM) to change the content of a web page while it is viewed in the browser.

Below are some examples of DHTML in action.

Slide show

Creating a slide show of images is a useful way of displaying a number of pictures one at a time without rendering a new HTML page for every image. Click here to see my holiday snaps slide show ;)

Moving images

A common DHTML effect is moving an image around a page. Although I can't think of a good reason why you would actually want to do this in a real website, I'll show you anyway! Check out my buzzing bee.
