Thank you for taking the time to find out more about my art. I spent a major portion of my youth growing up in the Northern Territory, Australia, my family still residing there. A huge amount of influence in both scenery and colour coming from those early years. I have almost completed a Visual Arts and Contemporary Craft course ~ Cert 1V. The first part of my work life involved the engineering field. I treated everything I made as an artwork. My work varied from cyclone damaged house repairs, heavy steel fabrication, portal frame sheds, steel bridges, hydraulic power pack fabrication and installation, working in an exhaust centre to automotive panel beating and rust repair. Along the way, absorbing techniques, which I hope to apply to some of my art. Each and every product that I made or completed, I did to the best of my ability, with attention to detail and neatness being of major importance to me. I first became interested in art at an early age, always drawing and ‘doodling’. I did Art History as an elective subject at High School. I wanted to become an artist then, bills had to be met and this was not possible. I continued to paint, although not as much as I wanted to. I now have that opportunity. The kids have grown up and left home, the spare rooms becoming handy, as art has a tendency to take over the house. I love the Australian bush and this is reflected in some of my work.
