Marriageable Young Girls
The Duteau Sisters
There were two Duteau sisters on the list of Filles A Marier, who arrived with their family in the mid seventeenth century.  They were Marie-Michelle and Madeleine and both were contracted to early French settlers.
Marie-Michelle Duteau
(1639-1675)
Marie-Michelle Duteau was born on August 21, 1639, at La Rochelle, Aunis, France; the daughter of Pierre Duteau and Jeanne Perrin.  She arrived in the Quebec Colony as a Filles A Marier, contracted to be the bride of Michel Lemay.  They were married June 15, 1659 at Cap de Madeleine, Champlain, Quebec

Michel was born on March 13, 1631 at Chenchutte-Les Tutteaux, Angers, Anjou, France; the son of Francois Lemay and Marie Gaschet.  He emigrated with his parents in 1653 and his mother's name also appears on the list of Filles A Marier.  However, she and her husband were married in France and though he died in 1653, I can find no record of another marriage for Marie.  She herself died in 1655, before factoring much into the future of the colony.

Marie-Michelle and Michel had thirteen children before her death on November 30, 1675 in Lotbiniere, Quebec.  Michel would then marry Michelle Ouinville and have three more children.  Though his death is officially given as November 05, 1684; he actually just never returned home from a fishing trip and so was presumed dead.
