A Marriageable Young Girl
Marie Mazouer
(1643-1714)
Marie Mazouer was born in 1643 and baptized at the Calvinist Temple on December 03, 1643, in La Rochelle, Aunis, France; the daughter of Etienne Mazouer and Marie Merand.  She arrived in the Quebec Colony as a Filles A Marier, contracted to be the bride of Louis Garneau.  They were married July 23, 1663 in L'Ange Gardien, Montmorency, Quebec.

Louis was born about 1635 in La Grimaudiere, Poitiers, Poitou, France; the son of Pierre Garneau and Jeanne Barault.  Louis and Marie would have eight children.  Louis died on June 19, 1713 in L'Ange Gardien and Marie followed a year later.
The Next Generation
Francois Garneau - Was born on September 28, 1665 in L'Ange Gardien and died unknown in Chateau-Richer.  He married Louise Carreau and the couple had nine children.

Louis Garneau II - Was born on April 02, 1670 and died unknown in L'Ange Gardien.  He married Marie-Anne Huot and the couple would have four children before her death on March 03, 1703.  Louis then married Marguerite-Catherine Soulard with whom he had a son Pierre.

Infant Garneau - Was born on January 29, 1671 and died the same day.

Charles Garneau - Was born on August 09, 1671 and died unknown in L'Ange Gardien.

Infant Garneau - Was born on October 07, 1673 and died the same day.

Jean Garneau - Was born on October 09, 1676 in L'Ange Gardien and died on November 27, 1749 in Charlesbourg.  He married Marie-Louise Huot and the couple had fifteen children.

Louis-Pierre Garneau - Was born on March 23, 1678 and died unknown in L'Ange Gardien.

Jacques Garneau - Was born on May 01, 1679 and died unknown in L'Ange Gardien.  He married Angelique Trudel and the couple had at least one child.
