A Marriageable Young Girl
Marie (Frete) Frit
(1631-1684)
Marie Frit was born about 1631 in the Parish of St. Martin, Chateau-Thierry, Soissons, Brie, France ; the daughter of Gaspard Frit and Francoise Viel.  She arrived in the Quebec Colony as a Filles A Marier, contracted to be the bride of Legier Haguenier.  They were married October 07, 1658 in Montreal.

Legier was born on April 20, 1623 in the Parish of Ste. Cecile, Le Mans, Maine, Sarthe, France; the son of Francois Haguenier and Jacqueline Lefebvre.  He and Marie would have just one child before his death on June 11, 1663 in Montreal:

Paul Frit Haguenier - Was born on September 24, 1661 and died on December 07, 1721 in Montreal.  He married Barbe Delestre and the couple had at least one child.

After the death of her first husband, Marie married Alexis Beranger from St. Jean d'Elbeuf, Rouen, Normandy, France; but I could find no children for this couple.  Marie died on May 12, 1684 in Montreal.
