A Merchant's Wife
Louise Boucher
(1589-1649)
Louise Lousche Boucher was born on January 22, 1589, in the Parish of St. Aubin, Mortagne, Perche, France; the daughter of  Jean Boucher and Jeanne LeMoyne.  In 1612, she married Louis Henry Pinguet, also from St. Aubin; and the couple had nine children.  Louis-Henry was born on December 22, 1590; the son of Noel Pinguet and Louise Lambert.
Louis was a wealthy merchant in Tourouvre, and when he was given an opportunity to relocate to the colony of 'New France', he saw it an excellent opportunity.  They had already lost six of their children and were looking for a change.

The family arrived at Quebec on May 31, 1634; with Louis' cousin
Robert Giffard.  They were granted land, which became known as Du Fief de Pinguet, on February 17, 1638, and this land was later handed down to their son Noel.

Louise died on November 20, 1649 and Louis, January 1, 1671.  They left many descendants.
