A Marriageable Young Girl
Francoise Benard
(1629-1707)
Francoise Benard was born about 1629 at Vouvray, Loir, Maine, France; the daughter of Pierre Benard and Catherine Riverin.  She arrived in the Quebec Colony as a Filles A Marier, contracted to be the bride of Marin Janot.  They were wed August 30, 1655 in Montreal.

Marin was born in 1627 at Chateau Thierry, La Chapelle-Monthodon, France; the son of Robert Janot  and Jeanne Depiennes.  Marin and Francoise would have five children before his death on July 25, 1664 at Trois Rivieres.  Francoise died on February 06, 1707 in Montreal.
The Next Generation
Cecile Janot - Was born on June 11, 1656 in Montreal and died on January 25, 1729 at Pointe aux Trembles.  She married Andre Carrier and the couple had ten children.

Francoise Janot - Was born on January 21, 1658 in Montreal and died on June 14, 1739 at Pointe aux Trembles.  She married Antoine Bazinet and had a daughter Marie-Francoise.

Pierre Janot - Was born on March 27, 1660 in Montreal and died on July 01, 1725 at Pointe aux Trembles. He married Petronille Tessier and the couple had thirteen children.

Robert Janot - Was born on May 29, 1662 in Montreal and died on October 14, 1723 at Pointe aux Trembles.  He married Anne-Therese Langlois and the couple had six children.

Jean Janot
- Was born on July 17, 1664 and died on September 02, 1664 in Montreal.
