Strong Family Ties
Anne Voyer
1621-Unknown
Anne Voyer was born about 1621 at St. Sulpice, Paris, France; and though she only spent a short time at the Quebec Colony, she did leave descendants, so her name is on the memorial to first pioneers.

However, Anne was not a member of the rank and file,   but was well connected at court.  She married a cousin of
Cardinal Richelieu's; Pierre De La Porte, with whom she had two daughters.  Pierre was the Royal Falconer, an honour given to him by the Cardinal since it put him in a trusted position with the King.

When
Henri De Montmorency II, purchased the viceroyship of New France from his brother-in-law, Prince De Conde, he underwrote the settling of 80 colonists for the Kebec Habitation.  Amoung them was a man named Pierre Voyer, who may have been a brother or cousin of Anne's.  His son later emigrated, settling at Chateau Richer.

Anne's daughter; Anne-Marie married Francois Genaple and their daughter Marie-Anne was later joined with the D'Amours.  Genaple died in 1709, and Anne-Marie then married Rene Hubert, a Barrister with the Sovereign Council of Quebec.  Marie-Madeleine married Michel Bouchard.
